How do you stay current on state, local, and EPA regulations?
Michigan Consulting and Environmental maintains strong professional relationships with the representatives at each of the regulatory agencies. Our specialists are in constant communication with regulatory agencies, and attend most regulatory conferences to ensure we are on the cutting edge of information.
How do you manage safety, waste disposal, and environmental impact during remediation?
Michigan Consulting and Environmental has strategic material transport plans and handling measures for all specific core materials. Each unique plan is dependent on the core material and the type of contamination in the substrate. We utilize on-and-offsite intermediaries to mitigate and remediate contamination before going to landfills, and utilize specialty landfills for specific types of contamination in specific quantities. Where Hazwoper certification is required, we designate and demarcate our work area "hot zones." We also follow all regulatory requirements in accordance with zoning laws to mitigate contaminants.
Do you provide a written remediation plan with timelines, scope, and post-remediation verification?
Most if not all projects receive some sort of bid and scope of work, with detail dependent on the service and client specifications. We provide all post remediation verification unless prevented by law. In some cases, a separate verification must be obtained by a separate firm following remediation.
How do you communicate project status and test results?
Project updates are contingent on the operator's desires and are adapted for the client. We provide all official documentation for well logs and chain of custody where required and requested.
How do you handle testing?
MCE utilized several labs in the state, and also utilize several out-of-state labs for specialized testing. We utilize a signed Chain of Custody that follows everything.
Do you handle EGLE / local permitting and report submissions?
We handle all of the permitting with any regulatory agency or council to the extent that it covers our environmental services, and to the extent the client allows. We submit all reports to the agencies and bodies where requested and/or required.
