Overview

Michigan Consulting and Environmental is seeking an entry-Level environmental engineer, geologist, or environmental scientist to join our Michigan-based team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Will work under the supervision of a Staff Scientist or Engineer.
  • Perform moderately complex reporting and technician tasks within a broad work scope, and/or plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates project work for medium to large work scopes.
  • Standard project assessments include conducting complex engineering, scientific assessment and analysis, and/or managing tasks or projects.
  • Demonstrates competency in a combination of areas, including field oversight, technical knowledge, and task management.
  • The position may entail approximately 20% office work and 80% field work on a variety of projects, including industrial/commercial, state and federal sites of environmental contamination.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.S. in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related technical field (M.S. Preferred).
  • Ideal candidate will possess 0 to 4 years of related experience.
  • Previous OSHA training (40 - hours HAZWOPER) and hazardous waste handling experience is preferred, but not required. Candidate must be able to perform field work with exposure to a variety of climatic conditions and potential exposure to hazardous materials and wastes.
  • Environmental project experience in multimedia site investigations and remediation.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, OSHA, and state regulations.
  • Field team leadership ability.
  • Demonstrated maturity in judgment, innovative, and client relations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must pass a drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
